CLASSES
Barnard Castle Dog Training Club is a small friendly club that offers a
variety of courses or training for owners and their dogs.
Obedience Classes

The club runs obedience classes on Monday nights and Wednesday nights at Barnard Castle
Rugby Club in Birch Road. (For a map

The courses are part of The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme. All
courses run for 6 weeks and cost £36; please see local press for more details.

Puppies
Puppies from 3 months to a year old old, who have been vaccinated, can
complete the Kennel Club ‘Good Citizen Puppy Foundation’ course.
This course
aims to provide a means of socialising puppies and to lay down a foundation for
education and training.
Constructive play and suitable incentives are encouraged
within this puppy training programme.
Time: Puppy classes run from 6.30 - 7.15 p.m. on Monday and
8.15 - 9 p.m. on Monday
Older Dogs
Once basic obedience has been mastered, owners can work
towards the Kennel Club ‘Good Citizen Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards’
These awards aim to
provide the handlers with a basic knowledge of understanding and training their
canine companion.
Time: Obedience class for older dogs 7.15 - 8.00 p.m.
